Algeria is the largest country in Africa, and it’s also the capital of Africa. Algeria is really big by its size and it’s indeed the tenth-largest country in the world, and the largest in Africa and in the Arab world. Its capital is Algiers. There are many interesting sights to discover – you can start by roaming the wonderful streets of Kasbah, the old town, with very picturesque buildings and labyrinths of lanes. Just go ahead and get lost there!
Its climate is similar to the Mediterranean, consisting also of very drastic changes in climates. Some of the characteristics of Algeria are the unique types of trees it has, such as olive and cork oak. Moreover, there’s a lot of greenery which gives a lucid beauty to the place, with different kinds of plants that are efficiently used around the area.
Something that makes Algeria special is that you will be awed by the magnificent Sahara desert, which covers 85 % of the country. There is a lot of traditions around as well. Especially, guests are amazed by all the customs, foods and clothes, which are quite distinctive and very interesting. In Algeria they also try to offer a little bit of European flavour in their restaurants, and show movies which are in English and French.
When studying in Algeria, you will find that your expenses will be much less, especially if you are coming from the USA or Europe. Instructions are usually offered in higher education in Arabic, which is also the national language. Some degree programs in medicine and science, however, are often conducted in English.
