Tuition fees for public universities are changing every year, and are regulated by the of each Spanish region, vary depending on the degree program the student is applying for. Private universities set their own fees.

Study life in Spain

Spain is an affordable country, the most expensive cities are Madrid and Barcelona. There are many kinds of accommodation:

  • Residential hall: many of the colleges and universities offers rooms and student housing on campus area, but places are limited.  For more information look on the university website.
  • Share apartment: varies depending of the city. For example, to share a room in a flat expect to pay between 350 – 650 euros per month in Madrid or Barcelona, and around 300 euros in Valencia or Sevilla.

When you study in Spain, it is possible to get an internship to work as a university student as well. The association of International Students for Economics and Commerce helps students in searching for a job or internship in areas in which they would be interested in working in. On average, the wages in Spain are less than in other parts of the Western world, and it is the third lowest paying country in Europe, however, there are quite many benefits offered with employment which include a low cost of living, 24 days of vacation per year (for full-time workers) and a great work environment in one of the most versatile and interesting countries in the world.


Spanish is the main language in Spain, but in some regions they speak others languages, Catalan, Basque and Galician. The majority of the courses will be taught in Spanish, but many courses are taught in English language, and the English courses are growing.
